FAQ

Q: Why do you live in Ann Arbor if you hate it so much, [loser]?
A: I am was in grad school, and it takes took a while to complete.

Q: Why do you think it’s reasonable to compare Ann Arbor to cities like Boston and Chicago? Wouldn’t it be fairer to compare it to [East Lansing, Flint, Champaign, Akron]?
A: Because it costs more to live in Ann Arbor than Chicago. Ann Arbor is constantly touted as “The Manhattan of the Midwest,” a place that has all the culture and amenities of a big city while still retaining a small-town charm, so it’s only fair to hold it to that standard. Putting aside the most preposterous claims of A2 boosters, the closest comparison may be Madison, which consistently appears to beat Ann Arbor on measures like cost of living and cultural events.

Q: Don’t you have anything better to do with your time than maintain a website solely to complain about how much you hate Ann Arbor?
A: Yes. Wait, no. Seriously, even though it may somehow look that way, the point of this site isn’t just to complain about how much I hate Ann Arbor. It started out that way, but I now think of it as a blog that just happens to use A2 as a springboard for my various attempts at cultural commentary.
