A rejoinder to our Madison cheerleading by a commenter over at Ann Althouse’s (hey, another A-squared!) blog: “[A]s of 1991 the jail food in Ann Arbor was way better than Dane County’s.”

Did someone in all those comments seriously compare this place to Memphis or Atlanta? Do my eyes decieve me?
Atlanta and AA? Not possible. Atlanta stikes me as being bigger, for one thing, Another, it is seemingly more suburban in a lot of ways. Atlanta also has a rail system. Perhpas better to compare Portland OR and Atlanta. Portland is a heck ofa lot prettier, though.
As for leftist, AA is only surface level leftist. It seemed pretty conservative, wih surface level leftist qualities. Can’t imagined it’s changed much.
I was very pleased that so many of the commenters referenced the South Park “smug control” episode in reference to A2; it was hard not to think of Ann Arbor when I first saw it. “The environment can’t handle all the people spewing self-satisfied garbage out of their mouths!”
The A2 jail must not be buying any Kapnick’s baked goods sold at the Farmers Market. According to previous Michigan Department of Agriculture inspection reports, black substances (presumably mold) were found growing in their coolers, and rodent droppings were found on the premises. These would tend to make jail food taste really bad.
