Finally

You can call me Dr. AAIO.

(Except I’ll laugh at you.)

(And technically you’ll be incorrect until August.)

  1. Congrats. About time you took your bitching elsewhere. :)

  2. Hey, now, I didn’t say that you’ve gotten rid of me yet!

  3. Is that like Dr. No, or are you even more dangerous? Could you beat James Bond in a fair (or unfair) fight now?

  4. hey, congratulations!

are you taking a job at EMU? ;)

  5. Congrats!!!!!

  6. Wow! Congratulations!

  7. rats. i meant to heckle at your defense.

alas, i visited the museum of naive art in rio de janeiro instead.

but maybe you could drop by CITI sometime, now that you have nothing better to do, and teach us … stuff … and i have the CCGrid 07 proceedings, if you wanna paw through it …

anyway, congratulations. (and welcome to the club.)

  8. Congratulations, AAIO. You’ve survived AA and grad school. Nothing can hurt you now. ;)

  9. Well, except for a speeding car on Packard, whose driver is talking on the cellphone….

  10. Congratulations!

  11. Congratulations. You are one of us, now.

  12. Congratulations indeed!

  13. Cheers! Now apply to Universal Life Church and you can be a Reverend Doctor.

  14. Congrats! That’ll give you just enough time to poke fun at the 2007 art fair and then get out of town. :)

  15. BTW, any hints as to what your next highly overrated destination will be?

  16. three cheers.

will you be staying on for an optional post doc year in order to job search?

  17. i love the irony - a ph.d. is probably the only thing more overrated than ann arbor, lol. congrats on your tenacity though - anyone who could spend that much time as a student without killing themselves is a stronger fellow than i.

  18. Thanks for all your congratulations! I haven’t actually decided what I’m doing next…

  19. Drats! I am 4 hours too late to make the PhDIO joke.

  20. blah. whether PhDIO depends on what your phd is in… if it’s a history/english/anthro than, yeah, it’s not worth the cost of the double nonfat latte that you will soon be serving to your former classmates. if it’s a cs (which i think i once read AAIO is) than it’s worth it for both academia and industry.

math pdhs are a toss up.

  21. Congrats — come join us on the dark side of the Force.

  22. Congrats!

  23. Do we have to use Dr. as your prefix in all circumstances now, or are you saving that for a) professional and academic communications, or b) tracking junk mail sources (you’ll improve your “yield” with the latter;)

  24. Congrats, AAIO!

I’ll be taking over this Web site some time in June, as previously indicated. However, I realize I made a “parity error” when I said I would be paying AAIO. Since this site has negative net worth, AAIO will of course be paying me.

  25. Nope, this site is calculated to have a positive net worth. See:

My blog is worth $32,178.78.How much is your blog worth?

  26. Congratulations! May you soon be rid of the albatross of Ann Arbor!

  27. Congratulations!

  28. Beware of cheesy web algorithms.

  29. Have you picked up your Borders application yet?

  30. Congrats!

(Hey, my going away/grad party’s tonight. You know how to reach me).

  31. Google come knockin yet? I hear they like CS PhD’s.

  32. I’m getting in late on this, but congrats!
