Uninspired Police Beat Post

“A drunken 18-year-old man said he punched and kicked a moving car simply because he felt like doing so,” reports the News Police Beat column. Not sure why that’s the lead, except that perhaps usually in A2 this sort of thing would be intended as a blow against the auto-industrial-Zionist complex.

  1. why can’t they be like we were, perfect in every waaaaaaaaaaayyyy…

  2. What’s the matter with kids to-day?

  3. Did he shoot a man in Reno too?

  4. But the best headline in today’s online Ann Arbor News is, unquestionably, “3 col wide dropdeck”. It’s the top local news story of the day.

  5. Dave, you TOTALLY win for the better musical reference ;-)

  6. I think they are trying to get one crazy arrest story each day. Tuesday it was the guy who wished he was the Incredible Hulk. How did you miss blogging THAT?

  7. “The damage was estimated at $491.” Not $490, not $492. Not “about $500″. That’s some estimate. (Thou shalt not count to 492. Thou shalt count past 490.)

  8. “auto-industrial-Zionist complex”…

    …is AAIO really Blaine?? ! ?!

  9. I knew a kid once who stole a keg from a party with a couple people and walked two blocks drinking it until was empty then threw it through a car window.

The moral of the story is you guys should go post some bar specials on www.a2bardeals.com

  10. 1/2 off beers at Leopold’s Sunday thru Tuesday nights. $3 Michigan pints at Old Town after 11. That’s all I got.

  11. The review of Arbor Brewing at A2BarDeals.com says that all the draft beers are brewed in-house. I guess they must have secured a franchise to brew Pilsner Urquell. I think they’re the only ones outside of Czechoslovakia to ever do that!

    Fools.

  12. Amazing that a $3 pint is considered a special price.

  13. Doesn’t AA News realize that there is no such thing as free will?

  14. Incoherent anger in your suburban streets?? It could be, or is this some kid who showed off in a moment his learned awareness of a kind in which Justice is Just Power. A lot like the grown fraternity boy Bush did when thinking Iraq was a car door aching for a big kick.

  15. Was the ‘kid’ an overweight, laid off UAW guy, or an Asian, & depending on the answer there, was the car an Asian car made in Kentucky or an american Mercedes made in Alabama?

  16. Seriously, just because of the stupid stickers freakin’ everywhere, I’m gonna avoid the bar-deals website.

… also, I already know the best deals, or rather, the best deals for my priorities. $3 for pints is awesome when it’s Michigan microbrews (as at Old Town). Also, $8 for a 24-oz margarita is awesome when it’s at Leopold’s.

… very awesome. In fact, wonderful. Two drinks and I’m happy as can be; thanks, Todd!

  17. At first glance it looked like ole Brian Robinson had one too many Snappers and lost it right down his front for the photographer. Upon closer inspection I can see that while maybe he didn’t embarrass himself he does look half in the bag. Is that an endorsement?

  18. Two? Yep, that’ll do it, Jen.

Glad that you liked our new Thursday pricing. There’s a new ad for Current coming out to advertise “Big Thursday” specials, complete with an Arbor Update inside joke.
