And is there any Michigan press source that AAIO doesn’t spend hour after hour scouring? I’m impressed that you’ve now added the Grand Rapids Press to your list.
By the way, why no mention of the recent award of “Best Blog in Ann Arbor?”
I’ve met Davy twice, and I do like the boy. Especially with the free Found what-not and booty rap CD I ended up with. Oddly enough, I didn’t post the Craigslist thing (got tired of the Detroit/AA Craigslist when every other post was bitching about the surburbs from Detroit or vice-versa), but he is damn fine.
Say what you want about the merits of Found, but while I wish I came up with the concept/execution first, it’s a great present for friends outside of Ann Arbor. $5 for a gift that everyone loves - not too shabby.
I was at high school with him. Found is mildly entertaining, but otherwise not too inspired. His radio work he’s done for NPR is top notch, and really shows Dany’s great talents. Just my opinion.
Dale, there are things I like about this blog, which is why I’ve visited. The blog’s core point, that Ann Arbor ain’t all it’s cracked up to be, is one I very much agree with. And some of the stuff AAIO has posted is damn funny and very on the mark.
But many of the recent posts are, well, whiny, and focus almost entirely on media sources (Ann Arbor News, Observer, and now he’s even stretching to include Craigslist (what next - rips on Myspace postings from Ann Arbor teenagers?).
What? Nothing snarky about the IKEA headine in the Ann Arbor News? 60-point type, across three columns, seven inches deep?

Uh, be modest? Stop promoting himself for five minutes?
