Poppycock and Fiddle-Faddle

The Calthorpe report met some tough criticism yesterday, including that of a former planning commissioner. The News reports: “‘It’s a waste of time and money,’ Thorp said, adding it was ‘riddled’ with errors and gobbledly-gook.” Is “gobbledly-gook” [sic] now official News style?

  1. I often find that archaic derisive terms pack more of a punch than contemporary profanity. They get noticed for being out of place.

  2. Dagnabbit, Alan! You don’t know what the heck you are talking about.

  3. Dale, that’s “dad gummit.”

  4. Oh, peaches, Dave!

  5. You know, I think I must have read through a slightly different report than these folks.

  6. Horse Pucky!

  7. The article in the A2 News MAKES ME SO MAD! I was there, I commented, I saw other people comment, I say a tally of the people who are for and against the report and there were DEFINITELY more people in favor of the report. And I am not talking about a piddily number for, I’m talking about a lot. This just goes to show you how important it is for people to speak out in support of the plan. Let’s get the story right and not let the News dicate what the “community” thinks.

  8. Did someone ask for intelligent criticisms of the Calthorpe report?

  9. Nancy, I don’t know who in the sam hill you are, but I already trust you more than the News.
