  4. Ben–great story. I love how they all just assume that you HAVE to be in academia to hold any sort of informed opinion (one of many reasons I wasn’t too keen on staying in academia).

  5. To be fair, one of the underrated things about ann arbor is the number of working-class intellectuals here. You have to know where to find them, though.
