A reader asks if we’re aware of any bars in A2 that show soccer, “specifically English Premier League games.” Any ideas?

I’ve occasionally (last fall?) seen signs outside of Conor O’Neill’s advertising soccer broadcasts on Saturday or Sunday mornings. Given Conor’s Irish theme, I don’t know if they exclude showing English Premier Leage games or what. Though I can’t imagine they would do something like that. They don’t seem very militant. Besides, I know very little about soccer; other than the preferred nomenclature is football.
I’ve seen ‘em on at the Arena before, but never on their big screen. And I kinda hate to send more business their way… (And when I saw it, it was Euro Cup play, not just regular league stuff).
I’m pretty sure Conan O’Brien’s shows English Soccer but they might charge a cover or something to see them. They are pay per view. There might be some other pubbish type place that shows them around here but I’m not sure where.
Thanks for the suggestions–I’d tried Conors (on a football saturday), and there wasn’t much doing.
They do get Fox Sports World, but that channel shows delayed broadcasts, during the afternoons–which, in this town, seem devoted entirely to pigskin (I was there during the Iowa game, I think, and I was out of luck; no available TVs).
The live matches–usually pay per view–are, I understand, not available there (I’ve tried emailing & calling; they don’t respond to either). Usually Irish pubs do show a lot of soccer–Fado’s (chain) is great about it.
Anyhow, I think I’ve found a solution–Spectadium, in Troy. This weekend is one of the biggest matches of the season (Arsenal & Manchester United), and I’m willing to endure the 45 minute drive for that.
Is there a Damon’s sports bar around here? They’re a chain, but they usually have all of the bit matches going on. Although they much just be ruled by American football around here–in Pittsburgh they often aired premiership games.
Conor O’Neill’s used to show it, but Sean O’Callahan’s in Plymouth usually has premiership on Saturday and Sunday mornings, and they cook one hell of a breakfast. Not a very Man Utd. friendly place, but then again…where is around these parts?
Yep, Damon’s is still there. According to this week’s Health Inspectors review in the News (required and entertaining Wednesday reading) they recently got 7, yes, count them, 7 critical health violations.
Hats off to all those who make Damon’s such an enjoyable and safe place to visit.

I know that Conor’s has shown some of the Championship League games in the past….they are all pay per view as a package….
