Yard Litter

A letter in the Freep attempts to explain why there are so few Bush-Cheney signs in A2, if you can get past the writer’s description of Ann Arbor as a “workers’ paradise” without choking. It’s because of the Republicans’ superior taste! “Most of us right-wingers consider such yard litter in the same category as pink flamingo sticks and rusting auto hulks.”

  1. I beg to differ. My neighbors have a Bush/Cheney sign in their yard the size of a bedsheet. Talk about tacky! It totally dwarfs my awesome lawn flamingo.

  2. I also beg to differ. My neighbors have an actual bedsheet strung up between two trees with BUSH CHENEY O4 painted on. It’s been up there for a couple months now and, saggy and faded, is a lovely addition to the neighborhood and no doubt very persuasive to undecided voters.

  3. What I want to know is how Republicans became the party of the working class.

  4. If you want to know how Republicans became the party of the working class, all you need to do is look around Ann Arbor.

  5. If any of y’all want some yard litter in the form of a KESTENBAUM for County Clerk sign, send me email with your address, and I’ll get you one. Or, pick one up at the Democratic campaign HQ at 210 S. Fourth Ave.

  6. actually, i’ve noticed something weird - the few bush-cheney signs there are are mostly in the yards of houses on corners. look for them next time you’re driving around.

  8. LOL..
    Mine were…on the corner lot.
Until they both were stolen tonight along with most of the Halloween candy I had in a witch’s cauldron while we fed our kids dinner. (before this someone put Kerry bumper sticker all over them). I really expected nothing less. Now I want to put a big sheet up. Wonder why some signs keep getting bigger? I want a bigger sign now too.
