The Gossip
This has to be the toughest job in town: writing a gossip column about Ann Arbor. The items in this month’s “Quidnunc” include something about the Bird of Paradise closing (isn’t that actually pretty old news?), Henrietta Fahrenheit moving and some Bush stickers on bottles of Heinz ketchup. Not quite Page-Six-quality material. Still beats Liz Smith. But where’s the blind items? You know - “WHICH Ann Street resident was spotted putting out the recycling Tuesday night for a Thursday pickup?”
(laughs).

Well, to be fair, she doesn’t have a lot to work with. Although, her column is only monthly - Talk About Town is semiweekly and they manage to be…just as good.

Shoot, my example isn’t as good; ah, well.

( Hi, have no idea who any of you are and you don’t know me either, probably; I found this blog through a Google search I don’t remember and saw the W ketchup at the bottom of a Wired web page … but hello from Livonia anyhow )

posted by Brandon on September 22nd, 2004 at 5:14 pmHmm. Probably not, but living on the “good side” of Livonia is overrated. We don’t have enough good restaurants here either.
