  1. I hope he proofread that before he sent it!

  2. Eek. Yeah, the parking situation is atrocious all ’round, but I have to admit the grammar and spelling mistakes made me cringe a little. I also hope that wasn’t the version she sent in.

  3. I’d like to send kudos for referencing my blog. And I’d also like to say thanx for your concern, grammar police.

  4. U o M AA doesn’t seem to have it much better judging from this sophomore’s sign off complaint on LJ:

    - a sophomore very concerned that the university has loosened it’s admission standards

    “Its” like wow.

  5. You’re quite welcome, ‘manda. We only want to see you WIN A BLOODY BATTLE against the evil empire that is the University parking system. And everyone knows that a razor-sharp grammar-blade is an effective weapon against such enemies.

  6. Yeah, I don’t know about bloody battle. I considered backing into the public safety vehicle.

I did, however, make an exciting revelation…

  7. Literacy is not a requirement for admission to UM-F, is it?

  8. Wow, a person is not grammatically correct on the internet, call the National Guard. Lighten up on that part.

She has a pretty valid complain though, if they didn’t inform her of the rules then they are somewhat at fault. But as the old adage goes, “ignorance of the law is not an excuse”. Oh well.

  9. Bad grammar online is fine, but complaining about incompetence with ignorance of “compitance” is very AA, via UoM.

  10. Do they not give out parking maps anymore? When I was a student, we had to wait in freaking line to get our parking permits… it’s actually fairly difficult for regular U of M students to get non-temporary permits, and when we got them, they limited us to a single lot, so I’m not surprised that it’s impossible for guest students.

I don’t think it’s hard to figure out the difference between south, medical, and north campuses, however.

  11. The website’s got pretty good info too:

  13. Just wanted you all to know that I won.

They are issuing me a pass for December and are willing to take care of my citation.

  14. Cool….Congrats…!

  15. hey, that’s terrific. I usually park in the metered lots and try to guess exactly when to let the meter run out to achieve the lowest mathematical expectation for the cost, but if I ever get a permit I’ll have to keep your example in mind.

  16. Pfft. AAIO… that’s so very *engineer*.
