“Remember the Jackson-Huron Neighborhood Association’s ‘Burma Shave’ campaign to kindly ask drivers to observe the speed limit?” asks Talk About Town. Sadly, yes. It appears that the neighborhood group’s push for even more draconian traffic enforcement has backfired - their rhyming signs were removed from public areas by police, since they didn’t have permits to put them there. It gets worse. As TAT points out, the police didn’t even call them first. That’s right, these otherwise-law-abiding members of the landowning aristocracy didn’t even get a courtesy call from the cops in regard to their sign-law flouting. Aww. You know, like how drivers get calls to warn them that they might get a ticket if they continue to go 40 in a 35 on Fuller Road.
First they came for the speeders…
thanks for your site and keep it up.
