Got to admit, Gawker, the newest yuppie-hell Manhattan weblog, is mildly entertaining. But it’s a bit New-York-centric for this marooned-too-long-in-hicksville observer.

It’s time we had something like this for A-squared, and Ann Arbor Sucks is willing to spearhead the effort. It will take on the burning questions, like what kind of social pull does it take to be invited to lunch in the Ann Arbor News cafeteria? The scandals, like the Ed Martin scandal and - well, probably just the Ed Martin scandal. The thorny dilemmas, like whether you can cancel a social affair if you manage to swing a reservation at Leo’s Coney Island. And, of course, the social scene: we’ll let you know which LSA juniors have been spotted at Rick’s and ‘keepers in their 1998-vintage black flares and low-cut V-necks from Express.

SidelongGlancer.com. Because didn’t you know that Midwesterners are too polite to gawk?
